Saint-Petersburg is the second largest city in Russia. The city is located on the coast of Baltic Sea. It was founded about 300 years ago by the imperor Peter the Great as a Russian “window to Europe” and still plays this role. Magnificent avenues, bright palaces, great open river spaces, beautiful bridges impress a lot. Museums devoted to history, nature and art, theatres will take weeks to visit. There are many scientific institutes of Russian Academy of Sciences and high education schools in Saint-Petersburg. This fact is important for the conference because many interested people will be able to visit the sessions and contact with speakers and between each other.

The Campus of Saint-Petersburg Polytechnical University can be reached by a subway train from the city center in about 20-30 minutes. Hundreds of hotels are available in Saint-Petersburg to satisfy any taste. Prices are starting from 10 Euro a night in hostels and 40 Euro a night for a single room with WC and shower. Local organizing committee will propose preferred hotels.

Social program
Social program will include a tour to Tsarskoye Selo with a visit to the Catherine Palace and the Amber Room, and also Saint-Petersburg boat tour.
Local Organizing Committee will consider the possibility to arrange for personal paid tours to the neighborhoods of Saint-Petersburg before and after the conference. Please contact local organizing committee if you have any ideas.
